Wellness Resources

We all need a little help on our fitness journey, and that includes help in the form of equipment, motivation, and food! The following is a list of wellness resources I like and use. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! The links below are affiliate links, and if you purchase a product through these links I receive a little commission for the sale at no additional cost to you. This helps support my efforts on this site. Thank you!

In My Home Gym (aka My Living Room)

Manduka PRO Yoga Mat – I love my Manduka mat! I got the PROlite, but the PRO is a little thicker. It’s guaranteed for life and it’s wonderfully sticky. Wish I would have gotten it years ago.

Manduka Recycled Foam Block – I love that it’s recycled, multi-colored, and says, “Practice on.”

Manduka Cork Yoga Block – Great for adapting your poses using a sustainable product.

Yoga Strap – Another useful tool to make yoga poses more accessible.

SPRI Deluxe Vinyl Kettlebells – I LOVE kettlebell workouts!

SPRI Medium Resistance Band – There are so many exercises you can do with these, and they travel well.

Fitness Answered Resistance Bands Set – 7 bands of varying resistance plus accessories…a complete set!

SPRI Exercise Ball – Another versatile and inexpensive tool: plus, I sit on mine when I’m at my desk!

Pilates Ring – A lightweight, simple tool for adding more resistance to pilates workouts; it can also be used for certain exercises to supplement your strength training routine.

In My Kitchen

Four Sigmatic Mushroom Cacao Mix – I drink this (or the chai one) before bed more often than not.

Four Sigmatic Mushroom Chai Latte Mix – Another delicious way to finish my day. I like all the Four Sig products I’ve tried so far.

Four Sigmatic Vegan Protein Powder – I don’t use a lot of protein powder anymore, but this is the one I tend to have in my kitchen now.

Penzeys Arizona Dreaming Seasoning – Pretty much all my spices these days are Penzeys. They’re so good! And they have so many good blends, like this Arizona Dreaming, which I use for anything taco-like.

Terrasoul Superfoods Organic Raw Cacao Powder – Rich in antioxidants; great in hot chocolate!

Terrasoul Superfoods Organic Hemp Seeds – I add these to my smoothies.

Terrasoul Superfoods Organic Chia Seeds – Chia pudding is an easy breakfast.

Bob’s Red Mill Organic Raw Whole Brown Flaxseed – I grind it first and add it to my grits.

In My Bathroom

Detox Foot Pads
 – Wear them at night, and they pull all sorts of crap out of your body.

Natural Bristle Body Brush – I started dry brushing in 2015 or so and I love it!

Piper Wai Natural Deodorant – It’s charcoal based and has worked for me since 2016. I much prefer the little jar to the stick — the stick rubs on kind of gloppy and wet.

Soapwalla Organic Deodorant – I tried this for the first time in 2021, maybe, and I like it almost as much as Piper Wai. I sometimes alternate it with Piper Wai.

Thieves Dentarome Ultra Toothpaste – I prefer a fluoride-free paste, and this one is awesome.

Organic Tea Tree Oil – I use tea tree on cuts and insect bites. It always makes into my travel bag, too.

Zum Clean Laundry Soap – Fresh and natural; it’s been my go-to laundry cleaner since my aunt got me a jug as a gift in 2020. The Frankincense Myrrh scent is my favorite.

In My Closet

Altra Escalante 2.5 – My favorite road running shoe.

Altra Superior 5 – A great trail running shoe; I used these for Ragnar Colorado in June.

Altra Solstice XT 2 – I do most of my Orangetheory workouts in these shoes.

Smartwool Zero Cushion Socks – I love these for running. They fit so well and are so comfortable.

On My Bookshelf

Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen – An incredible story of incredible runners, and how the entire human race evolved as running people.

Yogasana: The Encyclopedia of Yoga Poses – A beautiful yoga resource written by my teacher.

Living Your Yoga: Finding the Spiritual in Everyday Life – Bringing yoga into your daily life.

The Wisdom of Yoga: A Seeker’s Guide to Extraordinary Living – Reads almost like a novel. Love this book.

How to Know God: The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali – Easy-to-understand look at the eight limbs of yoga.

Autobiography of a Yogi  – A great story of a rich life.

The Slight Edge: Turning Simple Disciplines into Massive Success and Happiness – Exactly.

Breaking Out of Beginner’s Spanish – Funny and enormously helpful.

Warrior of the Light – Little bits of wisdom from Paulo Coelho.

Way of the Peaceful Warrior – A partly autobiographical novel with a lot of beautiful insight.
