Go Sport-It Push-Up Bars Review

(I received this product as a gift or at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.)

In addition to every variety of push-up you can imagine, there are other exercises you can do with push-up bars. That’s why I was happy to review these push-up bars by Go Sport-It.

You maybe remember Go Sport-It from the pilates ring review I did a few weeks ago. This is another of their first products.

The bars arrive disassembled (which makes it possible to ship in a smaller package), but they’re super easy to put together: just screw the pin in by hand to attach each base to the bar. They’re lighter than I expected them to be, but they feel sturdy and secure when you use them.

And you can use them for any push-up variation you can think of. They also come in handy for other exercises, including some yoga poses. I’ve demonstrated the push-up and two other exercises in this video.

The big benefit of the bars during a push-up is that they allow you to work through a deeper range of motion. They are also easier on the wrists than using the floor, so if that is an issue for you, I would recommend trying these.

For the average exerciser, even the intense average exerciser, push-up bars are probably not necessary, unless you simply like the variety of other exercises you can do with them, and the ability to change up your push-up routine. If you are in the market for push-up bars, I can confidently recommend these. They work well on carpet and hard wood surfaces, they seem like they will last a long time, and they’re small and easy to store. You could easily disassemble them again for traveling if you wanted to.

They’re versatile; you could use them in yoga, not only for the pose I showed in the video, but even in place of a block during certain poses.

The bars do come with a workout guide you can see online, but it just demonstrates some variations of the basic push-up: normal, wide, and narrow grip; elevated feet; from the knees; and a diving push-up.

It is also worth noting that this is the third interaction I’ve had with Go Sport-It (I’ve got a pair of these leggings, too!), and it has been a pleasure. Customer service means a lot to me, because (if I may climb up on my soap box for a minute) I feel like we’re losing opportunities for real human interaction, and with it the ability to be real and decent to each other. Look at any Facebook argument for proof of that. Go Sport-It delivers their products quickly, and they are kind, quick, and helpful with replies to inquiries. It’s something I really appreciate, and it impacts how likely I am to purchase from or recommend a company.

I probably wouldn’t have gone out of my way to add push-up bars to my home gym, but now that I have them, I’m glad about it. I got them out today so I could include in my workout the mountain climber exercise I showed you in the video. And since they were right there, I did a few push-ups I wasn’t planning on, too. Bonus!
